In the summer of 2001, several of us (Matthew Lee, Simon Hahn, and Peter Cho) felt a strong desire to see a church started geared towards the young adults in the Washington D.C. area. This had been on our hearts for several years, but it was during 2001 that God made the call clear. So in July of 2001 we began to meet weekly to ask for God's direction and leading.
To make a long story short, God continually gave us confirmation and direction to go for it. Thus, in the spring of 2002, we began meeting as a small group with several others to start this new church. On June 9, 2002 we had our first "official" Sunday service in Pentagon City.
